The Counselor hits theaters this Friday. This ensemble drama
stars Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, and JavierBardem. The film stars Fassbender as a lawyer who delves into the world of drug
trafficking. In anticipation of the film’s release, we will be reviewing some
of the other films from these stars. This week we will be reviewing Moneyball,
as well as a comparison of the film X-Men and it's 2011 prequel X-Men:First Class.
Moneyball stars Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, a baseball general
manager who attempts to assemble a competitive team with a shoestring budget.
The film also stars Jonah Hill and Philip Seymour Hoffman, and is a
biographical drama based off the 2002 Oakland Athletics baseball season.
This week we will also be comparing two Marvel films, X-Men
and X-Men: First Class. The X-Men film series depicts a world where humans with
superpowers, known as mutants, are present. X-Men was released in 2000, and is
responsible for starting the X-Men film franchise, spawning two sequels. Michael
Fassbender stars as Magneto in X-Men: First Class, which was
released in 2011 and serves as a prequel to the original trilogy.
