This Friday, the highly anticipated Thor 2 hits theatres.
Starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, the flick continues the adventures of the
crown prince of Asgard as he battles to protect the Nine Realms from a new
enemy. The film also stars Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston as
Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Christopher Eccleston as Malekith.
This week, we plan on reviewing two films that will coincide
with Thor 2’s release – Garden State and Thor. Garden State is a drama that stars
Zach Braff as a heavily medicated actor who returns home after his mother dies.
Natalie Portman also features in the film, playing a compulsive liar who
develops a connection with Braff.
Chris Hemsworth stars in Thor as the mighty prince of
Asgard, based on the Norse god of the same name. In the film he is exiled to
Earth as punishment for breaking a truce between the Asgardians and the Frost
Giants. On Earth he meets Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, a scientist
who connects with Thor and must help him return to Asgard.
